A Day in the Life of a Branch Manager
As a branch manager, you oversee all daily branch operations. You hire, train, and mentor employees. You listen to employees and members, and then solve problems. You enthusiastically sell our products and services, teaching people about the value of membership.
You also represent us in the community through involvement in various civic and business development activities. You decide how to allocate financial and manpower resources in order to drive the best results.
You consistently meet or exceed branch goals for sales and membership, both through your own hands-on efforts and how you inspire your team to carry out [Insert name of credit union here]’s mission. You analyze all relevant financial data and use it to make recommendations to departments for improvement, as will as preparing and submitting reports to the main office. You take great satisfaction in making sure your branch is an example of all [Insert credit union name here] stands for.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 5 years of experience in the banking industry
- 2 years of management or leadership experience in any field
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and typical banking/point of sale software
- Able to pass a background and credit check
A business-related degree would be a plus. Experience, however, is the best training ground for this position. So any extra experience in sales, lending, or community relations would be helpful. It is preferred that you are a notary public and registered with the NMLS, but this could be accomplished after date of hire.
