A Day in the Life of a Outreach Coordinator

If you are awesome at meeting new people and easily able to start up conversations then this maybe the job for you. Typically, in the role of an outreach coordinator your daily tasks can vary but each day you can plan on:

  • Building connections and opportunities with families, businesses, financial partners, etc. Your main responsibilities will be reaching out to families who have inquired, visited our website, or who have been referred to us by a health specialist.
  • Corresponding to emails and phone calls.
  • Assisting those who walk-in our door for the first time and giving them information and resources.
  • Organizing meetings, events, and seeking out opportunities to make our organization's presence known.
  • Collaborate with our program coordinators about case eligibility.

Qualifications

Typically, this person should be well experienced. We are looking for someone with a Bachelor’s Degree and/or 2 years’ experience working for a non-profit. We want someone with excellent communications skills who is a self-starter, computer savvy, and who has no problem going outside of the office and network with other businesses. It’s important that this person is well organized, has multitasking skills, and is has a positive attitude. As much as education and experience is important to work here, it is also vital that you are a caring and compassionate person. You will be talking to important families everyday, so it is imperative that you have a positive and caring personality. Now, of course you will spend some time training and learning the ins and outs of the company. There is always the opportunity for our entire organizations to learn and ask questions, so you won’t be alone. Most everyone at our company has worked for Hope for several years and can provide great knowledge and insight. You are encouraged to ask questions!

Schedule

Now you’re probably wondering what the work schedule is like. This position is full time and requires that you work office hours 8a.m-5p.m. Your work does involve talking to other business and assisting members of our organization, which requires you work during regular business hours. Occasionally, there are events which you will coordinate which require some evenings and weekends, but they do not happen often. This would also be a good opportunity to sell the benefits of working for your company and mentioning salary.
