Are Applicants Hidden Within Your Hiring Process?

Recently, isolved Talent Acquisition conducted a study with Indeed over the course of a quarter where we focused on our 7,000 clients and over 3 million applicants -- the biggest take away from the study was that there is a HUGE number of hidden applicants inside EVERY employer's application process.

Indeed showed us that for every 1 applicant that ends up in your inbox or applicant tracking system, there were 100+ job seekers that fell out of the hiring process before an application was actually completed.

It showed that 100 people searched for a particular job, near the right location but simply didn't ever click to learn more. They read the ad but didn't start an application, let alone finish one.

Applicants get hidden inside the hiring processes -- employers just don't know they're there.

It's frustrating... I get it. But it also means there is HOPE! Applicants are looking... there is just something, somewhere causing candidates to ghost the process.

In this article, I'll be sharing with you what you can learn from Neo and the Matrix in helping you increase the number of qualified applicants you're actually getting for your jobs.

One of my favorite parts of this movie is when Neo goes to meet the Oracle to find out if he's the "chosen one" because Morpheus has it in his head that Neo IS the chosen one that will help everyone get out of the matrix.

The Oracle tells Neo that he's not the "chosen one"... but at the end of the movie it turns out that he is and he wonders why the Oracle didn't tell him.

Morpheus then says to Neo, "There is a difference in knowing the path and walking the path."

I think this can be applied perfectly to your hiring process.

But when it comes to sourcing applicants, I actually think there is a step ahead of that... Knowing that there is even a path to success. Knowing that improvement is possible.

Most employers believe that there is nothing they can do to increase their flow of applicants. But they're wrong.

So first let me ask you these three things --

  • Did you know that there is a proven approach to converting those stuck applicants into actual applicants?
  • Do you know what that path is?
  • Do you have the courage and energy to walk the path?

Most of this isn't about spending more money.... It's about adjusting your current approach to maximize the conversion throughout the path.

The solution is not just to dump more money into more job boards --

The solution is to focus on conversion... To focus on improving or increasing the likelihood of an applicant moving through each area of your hiring process.
