Quantum Pain and Orhopedic is looking for a Full-Time Nurse Practitioner to join our team in Austin, TX! The candidate will assist in the care of the Physician's Patients & fulfill the need as a physician's extender, performing selective medical services under the direction of the physician. The ideal candidate has 2 or more years of Pain and Orthopedic experience. Fitting patients for DME's, outpatient and or ambulatory care settings experience, leadership, excellent communication abilities, and interpersonal skills, decision-making and problem-solving skills.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Assess patient health by interviewing patients, performing physical examinations; obtaining, updating, and studying medical histories
Determines abnormal conditions by administering or ordering diagnostic tests, such as x-rays, and laboratory studies
Documents patient care services by charting in patient and department records via the EMR system
Prepares written prescription orders for drugs and controlled substances
Interviews and advises patients regarding health and illness prevention; instructs patients and family regarding medications and treatment instructions. Provides patient education
Triage patient telephone calls and provides consultation
Provides monitoring and continuity of care between physician visits
Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols
Maintains strictest confidentiality of patient information and office business practices
Additional responsibilities as assigned by supervising physician
Travel as needed between clinics

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Experienced in Orthopedic and/or Pain Management is required
Experience in treating patients independently in a clinic setting, under physician supervision
Knowledge of professional medical practice to give and evaluate patient care
Ability to interpret, adapt, & apply guidelines and procedures
Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment
Skill in applying and modifying the principles, methods, and techniques of medicine to provide on-going patient care
Skill in taking medical history, assessing medical conditions, and interpreting findings
Skill in maintaining and preparing records, writing reports, and responding to correspondence
Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, employees, physicians, and the public through good communication and a collaborative work style
Ability to demonstrate compassion and caring in dealing with others
Ability to work in a team-focused environment
Must be recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing as an Advanced Practice Nurse***
Bilingual, fluent in Spanish is a PLUS!

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Master's degree in nursing
Nurse Specialization Diploma
Required minimum of three (3) years of clinical nursing experience
Must be able to communicate effectively in English
Registered Nurse with Current Texas license
Recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing as Advanced Practice Nurse (NP)
Prescriptive authority privileges through the State of Texas
BLS, ACLS
