Sovereign Developmental Center of Fort Myers, FL is seeking to hire a full-time Care Worker / Caregiver to be the front-line, ears, eyes, and voice of our clients. This position starts at a competitive wage of $12-$15 an hour, depending on experience. The typical work schedule is based on clients' needs. A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A CARE WORKER / CAREGIVER

As a Care Worker / Caregiver, you support people with intellectual and developmental disabilities to live the lives they want to live as independently as possible. You provide this support and guidance during the day. As you walk side-by-side with your participants, you always model appropriate social skills and behaviors. Your support is needed in many areas of daily living including showering, dressing, meal preparation, light housekeeping, companionship, and driving.

Using effective teaching and mentoring techniques, you also work with participants to learn new skills and achieve goals. You are conscientious about reporting any concerns about health and safety and keeping documentation accurate and up-to-date. You are energized by the dynamic team of people you work with and find the work of human services extremely rewarding!

QUALIFICATIONS

• Able to pass a level II background check
• High school diploma
• CPR certified, first aid certified, or able to become certified within 60 days of employment
