Child Hunger Manager

STATUS:

Full Time, Exempt

REPORTS TO:

Director of Programs and Agency Partnerships

DIRECT REPORTS:

None

SUMMARY: Serve as the liaison between Child Hunger Partner Agencies and Mid-Ohio Food Collective (MOFC) by assisting with the ongoing compliance, capacity-building, and training of partner agencies to support the general administration of the policies and guidelines of MOFC; Feeding America; Ohio Association of Foodbanks, Ohio Department of Job and Family Services and United States Department of Agriculture USDA as they relate to the partner operations and development. Network and sustain community-wide partnerships that address child-hunger and build collaborations that broaden the scope of programs and partnerships for the organization as they relate to Child Hunger. Develop resources and tools that assist the partner network in effectively addressing child hunger in their communities.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

  • Lead effort to contact, on-board and train organizational partners to host direct service programs in-high need communities across the MOFC service area to include School-based programs, Summer-feeding programs, Afterschool programs, Daycare Centers, Backpack programs, Mobile Markets for daycare sites. Provide excellent customer service to partners. Handle agency inquiries by telephone, emails, visits and/or correspondence.
  • Serve as subject-matter expert on Child Hunger. Provide technical assistance, trainings and resources to organizations operating programs that address child hunger, while also widening community awareness of and support for hunger-prevention solutions. Participate in innovative and creative solutions to increase the access of children and families accessing nutritious food.
  • Develop, nurture and manage ongoing relationships with coordinators at program sites. Serve as point of contact for coordinators at program sites. Responsible for offering technical assistance and capacity building support/guidance for services delivered through MOF programs.
  • In communication with Director of Programs and Agency Partnerships, assist in conducting surveys with program partners and clients to better understand the needs of the communities and populations served through child hunger program initiatives. Develop related resources and reports connected to findings and trends.
  • Work with food resourcing, warehouse and orders teams to ensure food for programs is ordered, staged and made available to program sites on time and according to program standards (accurate orders & quality product).
  • Travel regularly within MOFC service area to visit existing and potential program sites.
  • Assist in readiness for all audits of MOFC regarding agency files and accounts

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Education and Certifications: High School Diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's Degree preferred. Valid driver's license. Food Safety Training (provided by MOFC)

Experience: Three to five years experience working in youth and child programming. Familiarity with the impact of child hunger in communities.

Skills/Competencies: Must be a self-directed person with proven success for reaching set goals with minimal direction. Ability to work effectively in a team environment. Strong communication and customer service skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. Willingness to adjust to changing priorities. Good interpersonal skills. Must be proficient using Microsoft Office applications and comfortable entering and extracting information from database utilities. Candidates must represent MOFC with professionalism when interacting with clients, volunteers, community members and staff.

JOB CONDITIONS:

Working Conditions This position requires travel to partner sites across the MOFC service area. (See geographic area above) The position is fully remote, and majority of time spent travelling to partner agencies and area meetings. Reliable transportation is required. Must have received or be willing to receive the COVID-19 vaccine by date of hire to be considered for employment.
