  • Measuring and Process Systems: Balancing as well as assembly, testing and filling technology
  • Woodworking Machinery and Systems: Machinery and equipment for the woodworking the industry


The Mechanical Designer will create, design, and produce layout, assembly, and detail drawings for required designs. These may include general arrangement, complex assembly, fabrication/construction, and proposal drawings in conjunction with quoting, production, or development of customized and standardized capital equipment products. These products are largely Regenerative Thermal Oxidizers, Wet Electrostatic Precipitators, Solvent Recovery Systems, Distillation Systems and After Market Service Rebuilds and Retrofits.


  • Design piping systems and detailed fabrication drawings for process equipment such as tanks, scrubbers, condensers, and distillation columns.
  • Complete site layout drawings, equipment general arrangement drawings, and field assembly drawings.
  • Optimize designs based on DFMA principals, cost, reliability, and ease of maintenance, while ensuring contractual specifications, performance, and functionality are met.
  • Create 3D models using Solidworks.
  • Organize documentation for the offshore team and check completed design work.
  • Review and approve vendor drawings and integrate into designs.
  • Perform equipment audits and inspections, provide input to engineering and production schedules, and provide input to production techniques or sequences of events.


  • Associate Degree in Mechanical Design or related field preferred.
  • Experience with piping layouts/isometrics.
  • Expertise in dimensioning, weld symbols and working knowledge of geometric tolerancing.
  • Experience designing sheet metal assemblies and air handling systems preferred.
  • Prior experience with PLM software (SAP, Oracle, etc.) preferred.
  • Strong skills in math and geometry.
  • Proficient in the use of Solidworks (3D) and AutoCAD (2D).
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to understand and maintain project schedules.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Good communication skills with co-workers, suppliers, and customers.
  • Able to work well independently and in a collaborative team environment.

Supervisory Responsibilities

No direct supervisory duties.

Physical Demands: While performing duties of job, incumbent is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, and use hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close and distance vision. Additionally, the incumbent will be required to:

  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds

Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work vary based on need. May be required to work holidays or weekends. Overtime may be required.


This position requires limited travel, less than 15%. Travel can be both overnight and during the business day, and can be both local and international.
