Doane University, in Crete, Nebraska, invites applications for a tenure-track position as Assistant Professor of Music and Director of Instrumental Music, to begin August 2022. We seek a dynamic and committed educator and musician to provide leadership to a thriving music department. Responsibilities include directing the Doane Concert Band, the Tiger Pep Band, and teaching basic conducting. Other teaching opportunities will be structured around the candidate's skills, background, and our common vision in the department. The person will oversee adjunct instrumental faculty and is expected to be a successful recruiter. The band program hosts an annual fall honor band, travels on regional and national tours, and maintains a robust on-campus performing calendar.
Applicants should have public school teaching experience.
Doctorate preferred, advanced ABD considered.
Doane University includes campuses in Crete, Lincoln, and Omaha, Nebraska as well as online. This position is based on the Crete campus and is a full-time academic/teaching role.
