Corso's Horticulture is a division within the parent company of August Corso Sons, Inc. which includes additional branches for garden center, nursery, floral, and landscape.

Producing over 10 million plants a year to supply major retailers throughout the Midwest, Great Lakes, and New England, Corso's Horticulture has grown to become one of the largest and most influential perennial growers in the United States.

Position Summary:

General Laborers fill multiple roles to carry out day-to-day business activities such as plant cleaning, plant pulling, warehouse picking, production line tasks, and light machinery operation. Communication skills, organization, teamwork, attention to detail, attention to safety protocols, and exceptional time management skills are critical to the success of this position within the organization.

Major Duties & Responsibilities:

• Warehouse Picking: Pick product to fill orders based on shelves per cart
• Plant Pulling: Reference pull ticket and accurately pull plants to fill orders
• Plant Cleaning: Remove dead plant debris, spent blooms, weeds, etc
• Dock Duties: Unloading and loading trucks, staging carts, etc
• Facility Maintenance/Cleaning: Sweep, tidy, and clean facility
• Cart Assembly: Assemble carts based on puller/picking needs
• Equipment Operation: Safely and effectively operate small equipment including garden tractors, forklifts, skid steers, etc
• All other duties as assigned

Skills & Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Basic math skills
• Experience in warehouse environment and/or manufacturing is a plus
• Spanish fluency is a plus, but not required
• Attention to detail with low tolerance for unmet expectations
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Team-oriented

Working Conditions & Requirements

Corso's Horticulture operates year around with exposure to all seasons and weather conditions. Candidates must be willing to work in cold, hot, humid, rainy, and windy conditions. Additional requirements include:

• Reliable transportation to and from work
• Excellent attendance
• Ability to stand, climb, squat, bend, twist, and stand for extended periods of time
• Ability to lift 35-50 pounds, regularly
• Ability to push/pull multiple fully-loaded carts
• Willing to work flexible and long hours during peak season, with weekends required
• Use of personal cell phone for workplace responsibilities may be required occasionally
