Human Resource Assistant/Safety Coordinator

Position Summary:
Provides administrative support to the Human Resources Manager and the HR department as well as being the Safety Coordinator.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides exceptional customer service and addresses employee relation issues in a professional and confidential manner.
- Assists with benefit enrollment, time and attendance, unemployment compensation, wage garnishments and child support.
- Recruitment, employee on-boarding and separations.
- I-9 verification and compliance.
- Maintains personnel and medical files in compliance with applicable legal requirements.
- Accurately enter HRIS employee information and updates.
- Assist with mandated safety training and OSHA compliance.
- Assist with employee recognition program and special events.
- Makes copies, faxes documents, files papers and documents and performs other clerical functions.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Skills / Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of three (3) years hands-on experience in administrative support.
- Proficiency in or knowledge of using a variety of computer software applications with ability to learn the company HRIS system and implement all available features (ADP, E-Verify).
- Bilingual in Spanish/English is a plus.
- Effective oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills.
- Must be flexible and able to adapt to changes in the work environment including adjustments in work hours and/or schedules. Must be able to travel to our other location.
- Knowledgeable in federal and state regulations regarding employment.
- Attention to detail in composing, typing and proofreading materials, establishing priorities and meeting deadlines.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential situations, information, and documentation.
- Must have reliable transportation and good attendance.
