Content Writer

Position Overview


As a critical member of the Marketing team, this individual will develop content for print, digital and social media platforms for a wide range of target audiences. The applicant will have a successful history of producing creative content for websites, social media, emails, newsletters and blogs. They will also have a strong eye for detail and knowledge of SEO best practices.

Essential Functions

  • Create content for website, social media, targeted emails, newsletters, flyers, collateral, print publications, blogs and other channels to communicate to both internal and external audiences.
  • Edit existing content to improve readability and ensure communication is on brand tone.
  • Conduct keyword research and use SEO best practices to increase traffic to the AHS website.
  • Create compelling headlines and body copy that will capture the attention of the target audience.
  • Identify customers' needs and recommend new content to address gaps in the organization's current content.
  • Research various topics and industry trends and produce content on tight deadlines.
  • Utilize Google Analytics and AdWords to optimize and update content for increasing organic traffic, drive engagement and enhance overall user experience.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications


Education / Certifications / Licenses:

  • Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, marketing, English or related-field preferred

Skills/Experience:

  • 3+ years of professional writing experience, especially with digital platforms
  • Highly skilled in content writing for traditional and online platforms, including website, email, social media, blog, newsletter, collateral, internal communications, annual reports and other print publications.
  • Highly skilled editor and proofreader with a keen eye for details
  • Adept at matching tone/style of content to a wide range of target audiences.
  • Adept at concept development and ability to brainstorm with teammates for new ideas and strategies for effective content
  • Ability to research markets and industries to create content that is innovative and original
  • Proficient in keyword optimization and SEO
  • Ability to handle tight deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal/communication skills
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment
  • Self-motivated and self-directed
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently with a smile



Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

Language Able to speak, read, write and understand English.

Mathematical Basic

Technical MS Office, InDesign, WordPress, Google AdWords, web analytics, email marketing software, Google docs

Regular attendance, punctuality and access to reliable transportation required.
