Senior Procurement Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Lead, drive and execute Procurement initiatives for managed commodities to achieve cost saving and ensure assurance of supply
• Identify, select and develop supply base to support both existing and new products
• Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers
• Generate and issue Purchase Orders for assigned suppliers/ commodities based on MRP requirements
• Work with suppliers on material scheduling to support manufacturing build plan
• Follow up with suppliers on material quality issues and replacement
• Manage suppliers to achieve competitive cost, lead-time, quality and delivery performance
• Work with cross functional teams to resolve issues pertaining to materials purchase
• Collaborate with Quality team in supplier audits

Requirements:

• Degree/ Diploma in Mechanical/ Electrical/ Manufacturing Engineering with 5-8 years of relevant working experience, preferably in high mix low volume Contract Manufacturing or Equipment Build industry
• Possess local and regional supply market knowledge for sourcing Electrical Assemblies and Fabrication components (Machining, Structure and Sheet Metal)
• Experience in managing Contract Manufacturers
• Good project management and presentation skills with the ability to clearly present proposed alternatives for localization/ alternate sourcing
• Understand Materials Requirement Planning (MRP) systems
• Independent and a team player with excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills
• Possess drive and initiative and work well under pressure to meet fast changing requirements
• Meticulous, organized and communicates well at all levels both in English and Chinese
• Ability to travel if required
