Job Purpose and Reporting Structure:

While working with the Armor Animal Health team this person will be responsible for assisting the producer to reach full genetic potential of their herds and to help them attain their animal health and production goals. This person reports to the Veterinary Relations Manager. Must have veterinarian license to practice in Wisconsin. License to practice in Minnesota and/or South Dakota is a plus or must be willing to pursue license in those states. Current clients in Northwest Wisconsin.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Deliver a high level of technical expertise, service and support to the company's clients and sales staff. Assure those services are provided in alignment with Armor Professional Services Veterinarian Practice Standards and within business objectives
  • Monetize the value of veterinarians as Strategic Partners to producers through the Farm Vitals Platform and other veterinarian services
  • Practice with an entrepreneurial mindset and develop, promote and execute value added programs and billable services to the producer (residue avoidance, milk quality, calf health, reproduction, vaccination, investigations, records, audits).
  • Collaborate with sales representatives to prospect, drive occupancy and maintain competitive advantage of VCPR farms
  • Partner with Sales Representatives to promote appropriate non-Rx products and services to augment therapy recommendations
  • Explore your passion for the industry. Create and implement an area of expertise that fits with your role in the industry and the company.
  • Establish and maintain valid VCPRs through farm visits, services, records, protocols and prescriptions.
    • Actively engage clients in discussions about their operation. Strong active listening skills.
    • Assist in problem solving by performing investigations, identifying problems and developing solutions with the producers. Facilitate successful change by involving and educating all stakeholders.
    • Daily documentation of all visits and phone conversations, recommendations, prescriptions, and issues.
    • Driving sales of lab/diagnostics and animal health products as appropriate.
    • Complete herd information forms verifying how each producer runs their operation, their animal numbers and programs, develop drug budgets and provide written protocols.
    • Be readily available and responsive to producers with immediate concerns
    • Work closely with the regulatory staff to keep records up to date and within state and federal requirements
    • Focus on the ultimate success of our clients and the well-being and productivity of their animals
  • Client/Staff Education
    • Develop and maintain the technical knowledge of our sales force
    • Conduct presentations at sales meetings on products and services
    • Conduct on-farm training
    • Demonstrate and teach procedures such as tubing calf, oral fluid administration, IV catheterization, drawing blood, collecting lab samples, etc
    • Regularly schedule ride-alongs with sales reps to further develop technical knowledge and model communication techniques with producers
  • Collaborate and build strong relationships with other veterinarians within and outside of the company.
  • Provide technical support for development of training and promotional materials. Contribute to the success of others by collaborating, sharing knowledge and ideas.
  • Possess a strong knowledge of the industry and the company's product lines and services. Recommend products and consult clients to support the company as a preferred resource and trusted partner of their animal health team.
  • Participate & network with organizations such as DBA, PDPW, WVMA, AABP, AVMA and NMC, developing relationships and networking with industry influencers. Understand and influence the forces that will shape the industry in the future.
  • Pursue professional growth through continued education, attending meetings and company sponsored educational sessions

Qualification Requirements: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and/or Experience: Requires a DVM Degree, additional degrees and training a plus. Practice experience critical to perform duties. Wisconsin Veterinarian license required; other states desirable. Federal Accreditation. Must have an overall understanding of the dairy and beef industries; knowledge of animal production, nutrition, and products used in successful operations. 4+ years of production animal experience required.

Travel: Daily travel to farms expected. Some overnight travel required variable up to 20%.
