St. Malachy Catholic School, located on the west side of Indianapolis in the growing town of Brownsburg, is a preschool through 8th grade Catholic school with an enrollment of 495 students with two classrooms at each grade level. St. Malachy is currently looking for a faith-filled middle school teacher certified in 5th-8th grade mathematics for the 2023-24 school year. Certification in high school mathematics, including Algebra I and Geometry, is highly desired. The teacher in this position will be responsible for overseeing an 8th grade homeroom, as well as being responsible for planning and implementing daily lesson plans for middle school students. The ideal teaching candidate will have a strong knowledge of Indiana mathematics standards at the middle school level as well as current best practices to meet diverse student needs.
All teachers at St. Malachy are expected to design and facilitate engaging lessons, utilize formative assessment to guide instruction and provide ongoing student support, and create a positive classroom environment with Christ at the center. They must have a strong faith and willingness to share that faith with students throughout each subject area taught. Candidates should be able to work with grade-level team members, other grade level teachers, special education, and special area teachers, as well as all support staff. Must have excellent organization and communication skills while being flexible.
