Wilkes University invites applicants for a full time, calendar year faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor of Pharmacy Practice with a specialization in managed care in the Nesbitt School of Pharmacy, Department of Pharmacy Practice. This is a tenure-track position and is fully funded by Wilkes University. The faculty member will integrate into a Highmark practice in Wilkes Barre.

The School of Pharmacy has a dynamic, comprehensive and innovative approach to pharmacy education. Our mission is "To educate and develop highly qualified professionals and notably contribute to the ever-changing science and practice of pharmacy." In addition to experiential activities, the successful candidate will participate in didactic teaching, provide service to the school, serve as a student advisor, and engage in meaningful scholarship. Didactic teaching can include both small and large classes as well as professional skills-based labs. On-campus responsibilities such as serving on school committees can be facilitated with remote access to preserve time for clinical practice activities.

The focus of this position will be to serve as a lead for all managed care-related education within the curriculum, including the coordination of an immersive elective course; serve as an informal mentor for students interested in pursuing a career in managed care; and to maintain an entirely virtual experiential practice site with Highmark Inc. on the formulary development and management team. Flexibility also exists to precept students in-person at the Wilkes-Barre Highmark office, conveniently located less than 10 minutes walking distance from the Wilkes University campus.

Successful candidates should have a Doctor of Pharmacy degree and completed residency training ideally in managed care or have equivalent experience, and have skills easily transferable to a managed care setting. Excellence in teaching is the primary criteria for tenure and promotion. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Please be sure to include a cover letter, resume or curriculum vitae and contact information for at least three professional references.
