Position Summary:

We are looking for a Sr. Solution Architect - Workplace Collaboration to join our team as a key IT leader in the transformation and growth of our company.

This is a very exciting time to join Welch's and be part of our Information Technology Team reporting to the Sr. Director Infrastructure & Service Operations. You will gain significant exposure, building strong relationships across all levels of our company in a very influential role responsible for the creation of our end user technology blueprint, technical roadmap and delivery of best practice collaboration capabilities across our company.


This position is a key member of the IT Team that provides strategic development, technical design and transformational delivery of workplace collaboration capabilities to support our company's growth objectives. Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Customer enablement of best practice workplace collaboration capabilities
  • Fast adapt/leverage industry best practices and trends
  • Manage end user technology products & vendors
  • Continually architect and deliver workplace collaboration solutions and services
  • Provide level 1, 2 & 3 support needs, communication & training as required

Specific activities include:

  • Work with the IT Infrastructure and Service Operations to set the vision, strategy and roadmap for all Digital Workplace (DWP) Services to ensure the success of Welch's initiatives
  • Introduce modern automated DWP services that drive operational excellence and enable flexible services that can meet the needs of the enterprise
  • Collaborate with other Functions and across IT to ensure DWP requirements are understood and considered during roadmap development and design
  • Own the life cycle of design, development, operation and support for DWP services
  • Responsible for the operational excellence of services provided across the enterprise
  • Through change management ensure that services are adopted within the organization through effective user engagement and communication
  • Provide direction on what emerging technologies should be incorporated into DWP products and services to successfully deliver overall IT strategy and business objectives
  • Build successful stakeholder relationships with IT and business leaders by developing a clear understanding of business needs, acting as a trusted advisor and ensuring cost-effective delivery of services to meet those meets


  • Passionate for providing IT services that are aligned with business needs
  • Deep understanding of Digital Workplace services, including Identity Management, Device Management, Office 365, Collaboration, and VDI
  • Experienced at delivering operational excellence through a blend of internal resources and external service providers
  • Strong communication skills with all levels of an organization, with the ability to communicate and express technical decisions in terms of business valued outcomes
  • Successful track record of managing 3rd parties and service providers ensuring alignment to company goals and standards
  • Ability and desire to engage with all functions of the Enterprise to understand and articulate the business requirements as well as the IT capabilities and requirements
  • General knowledge of all IT disciplines and technology platforms
  • Ability to influence and lead change across the enterprise at all levels of the organization
  • Sets stretch goals and plans to achieve them, with a desire to continue to learn new skills and improve (i.e. emerging collaboration technologies)
  • Problem analysis and problem resolution at both a strategic and functional level
  • Ability to think strategically and plan over a 12-36 month time span
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Develops meaningful relationships and collaborates across departments.
  • Understands the needs of the customer and consumer by using technology, data and insights.
  • Shows consistent and appropriate responsiveness to both urgent and non-critical matters
  • Possesses people networking skills to leverage/fast adapt industry best practices


  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field required
  • 10+ years of progressive IT experience with at least 4 years in a business facing IT role within a $1.0B - $4.0B business
  • IT experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
