Community Based Skills Instructors (SI's) play a key role with the provision of skills training and assessment for the people we support within our Community Support Department. They are at the heart of our Agency with their compassion, dependability, and dedication to children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities and partner with their families to provide truly meaningful and impactful supports. Using evidence-based curriculum, Community Based Skills Instructors support people directly in their homes or in community settings throughout Fulton and Schoharie Counties. Skills Instructors continually strive to increase the independence and personal growth of the people we support while helping them reach their full potential. We are looking for talented individuals who share our philosophy of a nurturing environment and dedication to helping the people we support live their best lives. Community Support activities include respite care to provide temporary relief to primary caregivers, after school assistance, evening and weekend recreation, childcare during school holidays and vacations amongst many other activities.
Starting rate of $21.00/hr. A bachelor's degree is required. Candidates with experience in an educational setting are preferred.
This is a part-time position requiring a committed weekly schedule consisting of a minimum of 8 hours of work between 2:00PM-8:00PM on weekdays and generally between 9:00AM-8:00PM on Saturday and/or Sunday.
