Job Title: Advisor

Reports To: Associate Director

WORK SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday, evenings, and weekends as required


  • Advise current and prospective SVACE students on an appropriate course of study and assist dissatisfied students into more suitable
  • Notify students of canceled courses and advise alternate
  • Participate in the production of the ContinuED newsletter, including writing articles, photographing courses, and presenting ideas for future
  • Oversee Information Sessions and evaluate surveys from prospective
  • Facilitate social media promotion at the Information Sessions via Twitter and
  • Track curricular information by visiting and photographing classes, administering course evaluations, and summarizing evaluations for both the executive and associate
  • Assist in editing/proofreading of the continuing education curriculum in print and
  • Plan and administer various CE Special
  • Curate and install student exhibitions at both CE Project
  • Assist executive and associate directors with reports and special
  • Assist with general office duties as


  • Bachelor's degree required– preferably in art, design, or related field
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a student-focused approach to work Highly organized; ability to work independently as well as collaboratively
  • Ability to work on several tasks simultaneously and set priorities
  • Ability to work within deadlines without compromising attention to detail Computer skills – administrative (MS Office)
  • Internet/social media knowledge


  • Strong interest in visual art and design
  • College administrative/advisement background
