* PRODUCTION LEAD- 1st &2nd shifts
All Positions are stable & Long term!
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:
o Completed Shift Change hand downs with Lead Person being relieved.
o Assigns staff to operates and runs equipment within their area.
o Responds to notifications about incoming product quality flagged for discrepancies against spec
o Will be involved in discussions regarding off-spec products with Quality Control to
determine the cause for the product hold.
o Will determine when to get production back on schedule.
o Performs mid-level troubleshooting for equipment and other related functions (mechanical or
technical) of the equipment.
o Collaborates with Quality Control on periodic in-process line checks.
o In Pack Out Tracks production data including: pallets per hour, incoming materials
(quantity produced, lot numbers, material usage, etc.), to feed into Production Report.
o May designate these duties to the appropriate personnel.
o Ensures that the data tracked is accurate.
o Oversees and monitors activities by L1, L2 and L3 Production Operators in the assigned functions such as Pack Out, Batching or Kitchen for pace, accuracy and quality.
o Assigns product transfers to operator staff based on break schedule to cover any gaps. May
provide training for junior operators in the proper steps to transfer product, as needed.
o Receives regular communication from Sr. Operators regarding any production disruptions or
delays that could impact shift production targets. They may:
o Perform troubleshooting for equipment malfunction as needed. Notifies Maintenance,
Quality Control or Supervisor for their assigned area depending on the situation.
o Oversees disassembly and re-assembling of equipment for sanitation process, product change or
repair. May need to perform disassembly and re-assembly as needed.
o Maintains line clean & organized during production cycle.
o May have to cover breaks for other operators or leads as assigned.
SAFETY & QUALITY REQUIREMENTS:
o Enforces and directs all production staff under its work directions perform functions ensuring food
safety, quality standards, and compliance to SOPs and applicable regulations.
o Must develop a thorough understanding of the quality and food safety requirements in
o For each area of production ensures that training has been successfully completed by operators
and other staff, must have thorough knowledge of the manufacturing processes, such that you
can operate the equipment and processes and train less skilled personnel.
o Communicate issues, concerns, process deviations and related to supervisor upon identification.
o Knowledge of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) use. Enforces PPE rules with staff.
o With Food Safety and Quality as a priority, execute the manufacturing operations in a manner
that achieves the production schedule and best serves our customers.
o Support and maximize operational up-time on the factory floor.
o High School diploma or G.E.D.
Through experience, education (formal or other), training, OTJ-acquired skills, knowledge and related:
o Moderate understanding of function and operation of production and related equipment
o Moderate understanding of the batching process in food production.
o Comprehensive understanding of filling equipment mechanics and cooking processes
would be highly desirable.
o Have a general background in commercial food, dietary supplements and/or pharmaceutical
product manufacturing or related production operation experience.
o Basic knowledge and working ability of MS Office suite and software applications.
o Fully understand the execution of your job in the context of food safety.
o Ability to complete required manufacturing and quality records in English, as required.
o Bilingual capabilities very desirable (e.g. Spanish/English).
o Good understanding of automated equipment such as HMI control panels is highly desirable.
o Facility equipment can be dangerous and have risk associated with but not limited to:
o High Heat/Temperature
o Chemical handling, exposure and related risks
o Pinch Points and Sharps
o Bump/Tripping hazards
o Factory Operations could require extended work hours and possible work on weekends
o General: Exposure to potentially hot, wet, and powdery working conditions in cooking rooms.

allergens which can adversely affect the skin and/or the respiratory system such as gases, smoke,
odors, mists, fumes, dust, chemicals, oils or solvents, exposure to hazardous working conditions
including moving machinery, and/or electricity.
