We recruit top talent and are currently seeking a Pipeline/Mechanical Engineer to join our Energy and Environment team in our new office space within Ayrsley Town Center (www.ayrsley.com) in Charlotte, North Carolina.

The qualified individual will possess a strong understanding of the pipeline engineering design work process, design of pipe and appurtenances, design of distribution, transmission, and midstream gathering pipelines, design of horizontal directional drills and conventional borings, plan and construction documents and drawing preparation, permitting, site grading and drainage, erosion and sediment pollution control, and right-of-way design.


  • BS Mechanical Engineering;
  • 3+ years' experience in oil and gas industry required;
  • PE Preferred or obtain within 24 months;
  • Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) design experience including installation stress analysis preferred;
  • Modeling/Compression/Station design experience preferred;
  • AutoCAD experience, preferred;
  • Ability to assist in business development to grow business;
  • Provide effective communication with clients;
  • Provide both technical expertise and project management;
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills;
  • Excellent computer skills and well-organized; and
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work as a TEAM player.

Pay rate is based on level of experience and active certifications. S&ME offers a Credential Incentive Program to assist employees in obtaining additional certifications.

This is a full-time position with competitive pay based on experience. Successful candidate must meet requirements of the company's Fleet Management Program, Substance Policy and Reference check program.
