Position: Pavement Condition Survey Technician

We recruit top talent and are currently seeking temporary, project-based full-time Pavement Condition Survey Technicians to join our team in Greensboro, North Carolina.

Principal duties and responsibilities:

  • Attend NCDOT pavement condition survey training;
  • Conduct visual pavement condition surveys on secondary roadways throughout North Carolina;
  • Measure roadway features such as rutting, cracking, roadway surface type and pavement width;
  • Document pavement features on iPad using GIS software application;
  • Personnel will be paired with another Pavement Condition Survey Technician to perform the work. Company will provide Personal Protective Equipment and inclement weather gear, as appropriate.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma/GED required and 4+ years of pavement related construction, inspection, or surveying experience; or a 2-year technical degree in Civil Engineering Technology or Surveying Technology or higher with 2+ years of highway related construction/maintenance, inspection, or survey experience;
  • 5+ years' experience with pavement construction/maintenance, inspection, or survey experience preferred;
  • Experience using Distance Measurement Instrument (GPS) preferred;
  • Experience using iPad or similar tablet for data entry preferred;
  • Effective communication skills (speaking, reading, and writing), using the English language, required;
  • Ability to routinely lift 40 to 50 lbs. required;
  • Frequent driving, sitting for long periods, and walking distances required;
  • Must have valid NC driver's license and be an eligible driver per company policy;
  • Out-of-town travel required weekly throughout the project duration;

These are project-based full-time positions with competitive pay based on experience. Successful candidates must meet requirements of the company's Fleet Management Program, Substance Policy and Reference check program.
