Position: Senior Pavement Design Engineer

S&ME, Inc., is a multi-discipline firm which provides construction engineering & inspection, planning, environmental, and design services for traditional and alternative delivery transportation projects. We recruit top talent and are currently seeking a full-time Senior Pavement Design Engineer based in Georgia or Florida, to join our Team. While this position is based in one of our Georgia or Florida locations, we are open to a candidate residing in any city.

Position responsibilities include coordination of field explorations and testing, field operations, performing engineering calculations/design, preparation of proposals and reports, invoicing, marketing, business development and overall project management. Qualified candidates must have a Professional Engineer License and broad understanding of transportation project delivery to include planning, design, and construction. Qualified candidates must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong work ethic, positive attitude, and possess the ability to work as a team player.

Qualifications:

  • BS in Civil Engineering required, MS preferred;
  • Professional Engineer License, with ability to gain licensure in other states;
  • 15 years minimum pavement testing and design experience;
  • Proficient in pavement testing and design software, such as ProVal and MEPDG;
  • Proficient in FWD, Inertial profiling, GPR, and friction testing;
  • Georgia and Florida DOT experience;
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word, with the ability to learn commercial software applications required;
  • Overnight out of town travel and the ability to work outside normal business hours required;
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions;
  • Routine lifting required: 40 to 50 lbs.

This is a full-time position with competitive pay based on experience. Successful candidate must meet requirements of the company's Fleet Management Program, Substance Policy and Reference check program.
