SGI Global is seeking a Public Relations Officer to support the United States Attorney's Office, Eastern District in New York (EDNY).

Duties & Responsibilities:

•Assists the Public Information Officer at EDNY with delegated tasks and responsibilities.

•Collects, assembles, prepares, and disseminates information concerning various legal and case relatedinformation, programs and activities of interest to the Eastern District of New York.

•Under the direction of the Public Information Officer, assists in maintaining public information for theDistrict's public website and social media platforms.

•Prepares news releases, fact sheets and other material as directed from the Executive Office.

•Develops and writes speeches, briefing and other communications for the executive front office. Assistsexecutives with speech delivery preparations.

•Assists in organizing, assembling and executing press conferences in coordination with the prosecutionteam, the Front Office, the administrative staff and business partners at other law enforcement agencies.

•Receives and responds to requests from public for information concerning District activities and interests.

•Promotes the Office's cases to the media; disseminates public information about new arrests anddevelopments and court dates in major cases; shepherds the process of issuing press releases inconsultation with Assistant U.S. Attorneys and the Front Office.

•Proficient in preparing material for general release to the media.

•Responds to press inquiries received by phone or email.

•Attends court proceedings (arraignments, sentencings opening and closing arguments of trial, significanttrial testimony and trial verdicts) in the Brooklyn federal courthouse that are of a high interest to themedia to assist those reporters in attendance - and provides timely information to those reporters whowere not present.

•Provides office support using a personal computer with various software (Microsoft Word, excel,PowerPoint, database, graphic design, web publishing and content management systems).

Minimum qualification:

•A US Citizen

•Master's degree or equivalent of minimum five years of experience as required by the taskassignments.

•Previous litigative experience and background in writing and/or public affairs strongly preferred. ,

•Strong internal-personal skills that will foster positive interaction with the following USAO

stakeholders and agency partners.
