SGI Global is seeking a Human Resource Specialist to support the United States Attorney's Office, Northern District of Florida. The position is located in Tallahassee, Florida.


  • provide general administrative support for the Human Resources (HR) Branch including filing records (letters, memoranda, personnel documents, reports, etc.) either alphabetically, numerically, system-directed, or chronologically;
  • provide assistance with all manner of personnel actions including but not limited to drafting documentation to support the processing of: a variety of appointment types, pay status changes, duty station changes, promotions, bonuses and awards, grade changes, name changes, non-retirement separations, reassignments, details, position changes, changes in tenure, interim relief actions, corrections, cancellations, and replacement actions for cancellations.
  • provide classification support working with position descriptions, titles, series, and grades; developing evaluation statements;
  • assists with routine HR matters such as on-boarding, workers compensation, benefits, leave and pay policies;
  • provide general administrative support including light typing of recurring personnel documents;
  • retrieve records (e-OPF, letters, memoranda, reports, etc.);
  • sort mail for office – receipt, review, and distribution;
  • operate various copiers, scanners, and media duplication equipment;
  • perform data entry (HR Databases);
  • responsible for directly and independently supporting one or more program areas by providing a wide variety of human resources administrative functions; and
  • will work and interact professionally and effectively with all levels of staff and must have the ability to meet established deadlines and work as a team player in a professional office setting


  • must have a high school diploma
  • must have good oral and written communication and organizational skills with the ability to deliver highest quality work under pressure,
  • knowledge of software used by the USAO (or the ability to acquire knowledge about the USAO's computer systems).
  • must be screened and pass the applicable background investigation for this position and adhere to DOJ Security Clauses. Please see the attached local clause for more information.
  • must have the ability to prove U.S. citizenship and meet Department of Justice residency requirements.
