SESLOC Federal Credit Union is seeking an experienced HR Specialist to join our growing team.

In this role you will provide general HR and Administrative support to the department in a number of areas including: employee benefits, leaves of absence, recruitment, onboarding/offboarding, payroll, HRIS administration (ADP), and maintaining policies and procedures in support of achieving organizational and HR strategic goals. Help us celebrate our amazing team by coordinating our employee recognition program and assisting with various employee-focused events throughout the year (How are you with chalkboard art? Decorations? Grilling burgers?). Strong attention to detail is a must! Ability to thrive in a paperless, fast-paced environment and proficiency with technology will be helpful in this role.

Must use discretion and maintain confidentiality and compliance with federal and state employment laws and regulations. This position interfaces with staff, management, and credit union visitors alike, providing top notch service to help ensure our success as the employer and financial institution of choice in our community!

This position will be based at SESLOC's Headquarters location on Broad Street in San Luis Obispo.

Education and Experience:

A two year college degree or completion of specialized course of study at business or trade school or professional association and a minimum of two years' similar or related experience, including time spent in preparatory positions. Sufficient professional experience to demonstrate competency in benefits administration, recruitment and selection, leave of absence, payroll processing and regulations, knowledge of HR practices and legislation. Knowledge to demonstrate sufficient understanding of COBRA, ERISA, FMLA, CFRA, PDL, ADA, HIPAA, ACA, wage and hour laws. Ability to perform payroll functions. HRIS experience. ADP experience preferred. Previous credit union or financial institution experience preferred.
