San Antonio Zoo is seeking to hire an entry-level full-time entry-level Maintenance Technician - Events. Are you experienced working with hand tools? Are you creative and think outside the box? WORK SCHEDULE AND COMPENSATION
We are a year-round operation; this position requires a flexible schedule for workdays, weekends, holidays, and occasionally after-hours for special assignments. Our Maintenance Technician position is a full-time rotating schedule including weekends, the hourly compensation for this position is $11.00.

A DAY IN THE LIFE AS AN MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN - EVENTS
As a Maintenance Technician, you are responsible for manual labor tasks in a wide variety of job duties such as cleaning, removing debris, loading and unloading materials, assembling and disassembling temporary structures, digging trenches, and compacting earth. Typically, you will be under the direct supervision of a Craftsperson or Manager. Still, they may complete the routine and repetitive tasks without difficulty and under general supervision.
You must be fully committed to San Antonio Zoo's mission to create awareness that inspires action to care for the wildlife we steward and the animals we protect. You take pride in knowing your hard work is making a difference in wildlife conservation.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN - EVENTS
- Ability to understand, foresee, and apply necessary safety precautions applicable to the Zoo environment.
- Knowledge of the use of hand & power tools and equipment is required.
- High School Diploma or GED
- Must be 18 years of age or older with a clean driving record for vehicle operation
- Successful candidates must complete a pre-employment National Sex Offender Search, Criminal Background Check, and Drug Screen.
- Must be able to work in varying climates and weather conditions (rain, snow, hot, or cold)
