Sayres is seeking a Pricing Analyst for the Corporate office located in Washington, DC. The position is located in one of the most exciting, growing and developing areas of Washington DC- just outside the Navy Yard almost next to Nationals Park. The economic development of the area provides for high quality of work/life with many vibrant restaurants and green spaces along the river.

We are currently supporting operations through COVID based telework protocols and ongoing telework options may be discussed upon interview.

The Pricing Analyst will report to the Vice President of Contracts and will perform the following job functions:

  • Apply general principles of accounting and statistics to thoroughly explain, justify, and visually summarize internal price elements in support of Requests for Proposals (RFP) pricing volume responses.
  • Utilize various direct (salaries, market surveys, industry escalation, etc.) and indirect (Overhead, profit, fringe, etc.) cost elements, as applicable, to calculate accurate and compliant fully burdened rates.
  • Conduct market research and craft pricing analyses for fully burdened rates received by teaming partners to investigate, demonstrate, and justify price reasonableness and realism as required.
  • Draft, issue, review, and analyze RFQ packages to our proposal teaming partners, including rate requests, final pricing, representations and certifications, and any other solicitation-required documentation.
  • Analyze RFP requirements to determine cost/pricing proposal volume conditions and assist proposal and capture managers in developing pricing responses and overall pricing strategies as well as ensure that all benchmarks, such as teaming arrangements and small business subcontracting set aside amounts, are accounted for and satisfied.
  • Develop, prepare, and track various reporting metrics upon contract award and in compliance with the executed contract terms and conditions.
  • Work with relevant internal stakeholders to create effective rate and staffing responses in in support of RFQs from Primes during proposal drafting.
  • Support various ongoing contract and subcontract management efforts, especially with respect to responding to and issuing cost-related requests.
  • Monitor regulation changes, policy updates, and industry precedent applicable to Federal, DoD, and other relevant agencies.


  • Develop and prepare worksheets and other artifacts to support pricing activities for company proposal response
  • Ensures all cost/price documentation and calculations are compliant and consistent with accounting policies and all other applicable DoD regulations
  • Assists proposal managers and contract administrators with gathering and analyzing various types of cost/price information needed for other proposal volumes
  • Reviews inputs to ensure proposal is responsive to the RFP and conforms to our accounting policies, company policies, and government regulations
  • Routes volume components through internal review chain and responds to feedback during cost volume quality review
  • Conducts final pricing validations to ensure that all proposal actions relative to pricing are comprehensive, complete, and responsive
  • Supports audits and fact-finding sessions as needed
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Education, Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • Ability to apply contract pricing concepts and general accounting principles
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Experience with SeaPort, GSA eBuy,, and GovWin preferred
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written
  • Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to engage with all levels of employees within the organization
  • Attention to detail paramount due to the nature of the work
  • Proactive ability to seek and utilize resources required for tasking
  • Flexibility to work after-hours as needed
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Long distance travel not anticipated
  • Must be able to obtain a clearance
  • 4-5 years of experience in government pricing/contracting desired
