Highlights:

Our New graduate Intern program serves as a transition from the school environment to the work environment. During the Internship you would be on the unit working with a preceptor 3 (12) hour shifts per week for 6-8 weeks or longer depending on the unit. At the end of the internship you can be offered a position on that unit if you demonstrated that you can provide safe efficient patient care and can handle a patient care assignment. Internships begin every month.

While demonstrating exceptional customer service and communication skills, the Registered Nurse skillfully administers total patient care based on individualized needs of assigned patients and families.

This includes:

  • Assessing the health status of assigned patients as outlined in the Nursing Standards
  • Planning, implementing and evaluating individualized care based on patient assessment and Multidisciplinary Plan of Care
  • Ensuring all procedures are performed based on established Standards of Care
  • Administering medications and parenteral therapies in accordance with policy
  • Documenting all aspects of patient care
  • Teaching patient/significant other about health/illness and plan of care
  • Being a team player and taking on other responsibilities as needed

Requirements:

  • Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred (BSN must be attained by 12/31/22)
  • BLS for Healthcare Providers from American Heart Association
  • Flexible and willing to work independently
  • Able to work weekends and holidays
