POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The City is looking for employees who are committed to public service and possess a willingness to be challenged. The Police Department is currently recruiting for "POLICE OFFICER".

SUMMARY OF DUTIES:

This position serves the needs of the community by enforcing federal, state, and local laws and ordinances. In addition, this position performs patrol functions, makes investigations and arrests suspects, provides assistance to citizens, controls traffic, and responds to other emergencies. At the discretion of the supervisor, this position will present crime prevention programs and performs special assignments.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Must meet all requirements as established by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) - Title 37 Texas Administrative Code Chapter 217.
• Must have graduated from a certified Police Academy and passed the TCOLE Peace Officer Licensing Exam, or
• Must hold a valid Texas peace officer license and has never had a license issued by any State law enforcement regulatory commission revoked.
• Must possess a current valid Texas driver's license.
