Job Title: Technical Support Intern

Reports To: Technical Support & Operations Specialist

Department: Operations

Work Hours: A weekly commitment of 10-15 hours is required. Interns will be expected to commit to a set schedule within RBBB's typical office hours of 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, Monday - Friday.

Work Environment:  Office (in-person)

Program Duration: Internship positions are meant to be short-term and based around academic semesters and last for 3-4 months. We offer: Spring, Summer and Fall positions.

Pay & Benefits: This internship is unpaid. Read Better Be Better is fully committed to providing eligible interns with all documentation necessary for them to receive course credit for their time with the organization, if they wish to do so.


SUMMARY:

Read Better Be Better has an exciting opportunity available for aspiring professionals interested in Information Technology, Salesforce, and nonprofit! As an RBBB Technical Support Intern, you will work under the guidance and supervision of the Operations Director to learn about and complete projects related to the organization's Salesforce instance. As well as organizing, asset tagging, and updating our newly implemented Asset inventory process for our electronic devices. In addition to assigned tasks, you will be given the opportunity to take on tasks that are of personal interest, dependent upon the needs of the Operations Department and the organization.

The ideal candidate is a motivated problem-solver, willing and able to learn quickly, and has strong organizational and project management skills and familiarity with the platforms outlined below.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Organize and label all newly acquired Google Chromebooks based on the standards set by RBBB;
  • Update and add all electronic devices to RBBB's inventory management system;
  • Under the direction of the Operations Director, organize and structure RBBB's Salesforce reports, as well as folder management and data cleanup.

REQUIRED SKILLS/ATTRIBUTES/EDUCATION

  • Ability to conductthemselvesin accordance with the Read Better Be Better organization, vision, mission, and values
  • Self-starter with strong organizational skills
  • Close attention to detail
  • Interest in Information Technology
  • A positive attitude
  • High school diploma or equivalence

PREFERRED SKILLS/ATTRIBUTES/EDUCATION

  • Understanding of the following platforms and applications:
  • Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, SharePoint)
  • Salesforce
  • Slack
  • EZ Office Inventory or any Inventory Management System
  • Knowledge in the use of Google Chromebooks
  • Enrollment in/having a relevant degree program

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Ability to sit and stand for extended period of time
  • Ability to lift/pull/push material carts up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment
