GENERAL PURPOSE
The Building Supervisor works under the general supervision of the Recreation Director. Weekly hours are part time year round not to exceed 29 hours per week. Weekly hours may vary depending on season and department programming. Typical hours would be two weekdays a week (usually including Fridays), 4 PM to 10 PM and Saturday for up to 8 hours depending on the season. Responsibilities would include but not be limited to preventative maintenance of exercise equipment and other small repairs, assist with program setup and cleanup as needed. Additional duties include organizing weight room, wiping down machines, light janitorial and assisting desk staff with any customer service issues. Ideal candidate must be a people person and ability to problem solve. Open until filled.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION / CERTIFICATION:
High school degree or GED preferred
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Prior experience a plus, but not required
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:
Knowledge of basic cardio/weight machines
Ability to perform minor repairs and replace broken parts
Knowledge of computers and recreation programs
SKILLS / ABILITIES:
Must possess good public relations skills, and quality customer service skills
Must possess good oral and written communication abilities
Ability to understand written and spoken instructions
Ability to operate basic machines
Ability to lift 50 pounds
Willingness to learn and follow instructions
CONDITIONS
This position is expected to serve the public through maintaining and supervising the evening operations of the recreation center and may be required to work in adverse weather conditions. This person will assist with front desk needs as well as maintaining fitness equipment. They will be expected to lift, carry and manage equipment and supplies. They may be required to stand for extended lengths of time during a shift. They may have to work odd or long hours at a time to complete special requests or projects. Hours may include weekends and some holidays. Hours may vary as season and activities dictate with a maximum of 29 hours per week. This position may also at times participate in strenuous physical activities, both indoors and out.
