Pioneer Technical Services, Inc. is currently looking to fill a Hydrogeologist/Hydrogeological Engineering position in its Butte, Montana, office.
The position responsibilities encompass all aspects of hydrogeology and/or hydrogeological engineering, and the management and implementation of a diverse set of petroleum and mining contamination projects for federal, state, and private sector clients. This will include interaction with clients, management of projects, site assessments, remedial investigations and remediation, aquifer testing, dewatering, groundwater sampling, computer modeling of groundwater flow and contaminant transport, writing and reviewing reports, and technical support for engineering designs.
Minimally, the position requires a bachelors' degree in engineering or hydrogeology and/or related geosciences field, experience working on projects related to the field of hydrogeology, and a minimum of 6 years of experience working in the field of hydrogeology or hydrogeological engineering. It is preferred but not required that the candidate have experience working in several of the following areas: Comprehensive Environmental Cleanup and Responsibility Act (CECRA) remediation activities; Phase I and Phase II site investigations; Leaking Underground Storage Tank (LUST), Resource Conservation Recovery Act (RCRA), CERCLA (Superfund) and Abandoned Mine projects. Candidate must have a valid drivers license.
Education: Bachelor's Degree Required
Field of Study: Hydrogeology or Hydrogeological Engineering preferred, but not necessary.
Master's Degree is preferred, but not necessary
Relevant professional engineering licensing or equivalent accreditation: preferred, but not necessary
Experience: 6+ years of experience in consulting or practice
Computer skills: Must be proficient in using technology and computers relevant to the profession. This includes Microsoft Word and Excel and groundwater modeling software (e.g., MODFLOW, Aqtesolv, GMS, etc.).
