Job Opportunity: Our Houston office is looking for an energetic attorney with a strong work ethic to represent our clients in the recovery of ad valorem taxes and other governmental receivables. Attorney will not have billable hours.

Starting Pay $65,000 // Compensation: commensurate with experience


Essential Duties

  • Review legal documents such as pleadings, notices and judgments
  • Make weekly court appearances in Harris County and surrounding counties
  • Review all facts, legal issues and documents in a case prior to court appearance
  • Work closely with staff on collection and litigation activities
  • Draft discovery requests and responses
  • Research and analyze legal issues
  • Advise clients on tax matters
  • Communicate with taxpayers and attorneys
  • Participate in monthly office meetings
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients
  • Participate in marketing and networking activities
  • Attend local evening and weekend events
  • Attend statewide conferences and work the booth in exhibit halls
  • Draft advisory memorandum for firm-wide distribution and/or distribution to clients
  • Assist with appellate matters
