Electronics Technician

OnLume Surgical is creating the future of medical imaging devices for image-guided surgery. We are
a growing team based in Madison, WI that enjoys collaborative and iterative development. OnLume
is looking for an electronics technician to prototype, modify, test, and repair electronics systems and
devices. You will support hands-on research and development of novel imaging products at the
system and component level.

  • Build prototype modules and systems based on technical guidelines
  • Set up and test electronic systems and devices
  • Modify / rework printed circuit board assemblies
  • Repair circuitry and other system structures
  • Read and comprehend complex manuals and diagrams
  • Update reports and maintain inventory
  • Collaborate with team members, e.g., for system design and integration
  • Interact with suppliers as needed to investigate technical concerns
  • Perform failure analysis on customer, test, and production components and sub-assemblies
    to determine root cause of failure
  • Monitor and communicate development status with stakeholders
  • Performs duties in compliance with environmental, health, and safety related site rules,
    policies, or governmental regulations

The Ideal Candidate Is/Has:

  • Proficient in assembling, modifying, and testing electronic subsystems
  • Proficient with various tools and equipment (oscilloscope, multimeter, logic analyzer, power
    supplies, soldering and de-soldering tools, etc.)
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Good communications skills, both oral and written
  • Required Education and Experience:
  • Previous experience as electronic technician or similar role
  • Hands-on experience with electronic testing and circuitry
  • Experience with printed circuit board rework
  • Certification in engineering or electronics
  • Electronics technician associates degree (or similar) with at least 3 years' direct experience
