As an Accounting Intern, you have a basic understanding of US GAAP and financial principles, and you are ready for an immersive, real-world experience. You'll gain a wide variety of experiences as you learn the responsibilities of an accountant and gain an understanding of a professional work environment. In this role you will be working closely with the Corporate Controller, Director of Financial Planning & Analysis, and other accountants as you participate in the preparation of journal entries and financial reports, analyze financial data, learn more about financial software, and assist with daily accounting activities and tasks. You are a motivated team player who can maintain efficiency and accuracy when responsible for performing several discrete tasks.

  • Shadow members of the Accounting and Finance department as they perform their duties
  • Work under supervision of other accountants to:
    • Compose and input journal entries into Costpoint
    • Perform bank statement and other balance sheet reconciliation
    • Process semi-monthly timesheets and payroll
    • Administer weekly vendor payment processing
    • Prepare month-end financial reports
    • Produce ad hoc and other internal analysis
  • Take part in the financial filing system project to securely organize cloud-hosted records, and other projects as directed
  • Handle sensitive or confidential information with honesty and integrity
  • Ensure the completion of assigned tasks in line with established deadlines


  • Be a senior- or junior-level college student majoring in accounting - with satisfactory completion of introductory accounting courses and a basic understanding of accounting and financial principles
  • Work part-time in summer 2023 (maximum 24 hours per week)
  • Proficient in MS Excel and Word
  • Willing to work effectively, both independently and on a team, with high efficiency, accuracy, and sense of responsibility
  • Display a positive attitude, be collaborative, trustworthy, receptive to feedback, and eager to learn
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Motivated with desire to take on new challenges
  • A self-starter with strong initiative, excellent attention to detail, ability to think proactively and problem-solve, and a dedication to follow-up and follow-through
  • Able to multi-task, shift priorities and meet deadlines
  • Solid organizational skills
