Title: Geospatial Analyst (Mid-Level)

Location: Quantico, VA (onsite)

Clearance: TS/SCI


  • Conduct geospatial analysis of objects, networks, and persons using geospatial tools, methodologies, spatial-temporal data, imagery, social and physical sciences
  • Provide analysis on, but is not limited to, terrain mapping, route planning, and maritime geospatial activity
  • Analyze and characterize spatial-temporal data using GIS, such as ArcGIS or QGIS
  • Serve as the primary POC for geospatial expertise, ensuring tradecraft compliance and analytic standards
  • Provide advice on emerging geospatial methods, tools, algorithms, training, or requirements to advance OCI's use of geospatial analysis
  • Use geospatial tools, enterprise capabilities, methodologies, spatial and temporal data, imagery, social and physical sciences to exploit imagery, vector, and other data types including non-geospatially correlated data - to identify and characterize evidence to support all-source analytic assessments
  • Employ new and improved methodologies or data sets to address information gaps and identify areas of information to help resolve complex analytic problems, and to ensure solutions to analytical problems are rigorous and logical
  • Exploit an understanding of community data sets, agency programs, machine learning, data science, and related disciplines to collaborate on analytic projects or programs throughout the DoD, IC, CCMDs, Foreign Partners, Academia, and Industry
  • Provide deliverables that enhance analytic insight through the integration of new data sets and advanced analytic methods
  • Provide guidance in selecting, designing, and applying analytic methodologies
  • Integrate geospatial data, techniques and tools into work flows that respond to analytic requirements and client needs
  • Leverage cartographic principles in all map products to ensure ease of use and interpretation
  • When directed, assists OCI in vetting or validating existing or emerging programs and capabilities
  • Develop or discover algorithms and solutions to analyze, process or visualize data that is larger than RAM or requires distributed processing


  • Bachelor's Degree, and 8+ years of experience in conducting analysis, with at least a portion of the experience within the last 2 years
  • Demonstrated comprehensive mission knowledge and skills that affirms completion of all developmental training and experiences
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate understanding from information that may be incomplete, indirect, highly complex, seemingly unrelated, and / or technically advanced
  • Demonstrated ability to structure analysis based on trends in reporting and a range of analytic perspectives from other analysts, organizations, and intelligence disciplines
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal oversight and direction
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate and work with other IC members on information sharing, driving collection, and addressing analytic disputes and conflict resolution
  • Demonstrated ability to develop concise, insightful, and comprehensive products for defense intelligence
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams in researching multifaceted or critical problems
  • Ability to use argument evaluation and validated analytic methodologies to challenge differing perspectives
  • Possess in-depth knowledge and experience in conducting geospatial analysis of objects, networks, and persons using geospatial tools, methodologies, spatial-temporal data, imagery, social and physical sciences
  • Possess in-depth knowledge of integrating geospatial data into all source products or analytical workflows, and at building and explaining geospatial models that leverage statistics, data science, and appropriate quantitative methods
  • Active DoD TS/SCI security clearance, with the ability to obtain a CI Polygraph
