Title: Network Engineer

Location: Alexandria, VA

Clearance: TS/SCI

Responsibilities:

  • Provide near real-time awareness of network status, including issues or outages, or other changes that affect Intelligence customers or services. Status includes relevant circuits and "rack to jack" connectivity
  • Provide engineering support for new approved enterprise locations or modernization efforts to existing locations
  • Support and provide subject matter expertise to engineering, planning and cost estimations to new network expansions or upgrade existing ones
  • Provide touch labor support to maintain an operational posture or completed engineering initiatives
  • Complete touch labor support, onsite or remotely, to establish or re-establish network connectivity
  • Troubleshoot in order to restore network elements as quickly as possible within the Area of Responsibility (AOR)
  • Communicate with service providers or external customers to facilitate network restoration, coordination or other support activities
  • Provide customer or endpoint support related to network support to maintain an operational posture, install new or upgraded equipment
  • Communicate with designated customer representatives to install, configure, test or troubleshoot network connectivity issues with new or existing devices or services
  • Travel to enterprise location in support of customer support efforts
  • Provide documentation updates or support related to network compliance for Authority To Operate (ATO), Security Technical Implementation Guidance (STIG), or other Information Assurance (IA) policy instruction for continuous network connectivity
  • Update or create required documentation for compliance or operational necessity of network elements per applicable SOP. Typical documents include: topology diagrams, rack elevations, infrastructure layouts, or compliance memos
  • Perform applicable patch management related to compliance instructions, communicate status to the COR, and recommend changes required to maintain compliance

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma and 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Strong ability to communicate quickly and effectively to higher leadership and non-technical personnel alike
  • Ability to travel up to 25% may be required
  • Ability to sit at a desk for long periods of time
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs
  • Active TS/SCI security clearance
  • Active DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification
  • Ability to obtain CCNA certification within 6 months of being hired
