About the Job:

The Floating Resident Services Technician reports to the Capital Improvement Manager and the Resident Services Managers.


SEEKING INTERMEDIATE PLUMBING / ELECTRICAL / CARPENTRY / GROUNDS WORK KNOWLEDGE


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work closely with Community Manager to maintain integrity of property within established budget.
  • Assist in all maintenance issues including, but not limited to, electrical repairs, plumbing repairs, carpentry work, custodial work and concrete, masonry, roofing fencing and signage when needed.
  • Perform touch-up painting, interior and exterior, as needed.
  • Perform carpentry work, such as fitting doors, freeing windows, replacing and building shelves, sanding and refinishing floors.
  • Keep equipment clean and in orderly working condition
  • Must be conscious of a safe work environment.
  • Must attend Company sponsored events that relate to the development of the team, which, from time to time, may include overnight stays at locations away from the employee's home.
  • Must have home telephone and inform supervisor of current phone number.
  • Must be able to read and speak English.
  • Work with the Capital Improvement Manager to plan and implement all capital improvement projects.
  • Assist in custodial work, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, emptying trash, cleaning windows in all common areas.
  • Assist in grounds work as directed.
  • Assist in the repair of concrete, masonry, roof, fencing and signage as directed.
  • Participate in a standby emergency schedule for evening, weekend, and holiday coverage with the maximum response time being one-half hour from time the call is received.
  • Assist the RST Supervisor in annual apartment inspections.
  • Assist in the scheduling and turning of vacant units prior to resident occupancy.
  • Assist the Resident Services Supervisor in annual apartment inspections.
  • Must possess a valid California Driver's License and automobile insurance in order to drive for business purposes or have reliable transportation to travel to multiple sites, assist with site emergencies and help with Capital Improvement projects throughout the day.
  • Other duties as may be needed or required at the request of the Community Manager or other supervisors.

EXPERIENCE

The Floating Resident Services Technician should have the following minimal knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • 3 or more years of experience in resident services and maintenance or related field.
  • Previous experience equal to or exceeding position applied for.
  • High school education or equivalent is needed with proficiency in both verbal and written communication skills.
