Description: The Assistant Executive Pastry Chef is responsible for assisting in the creative and innovative aspect of each Hui dessert menus, managing the Bakeshop in all aspects of food production and execution, and training and leading the Head Bakers while maintaining the Bakeshop vision set by the Executive Pastry Chef and company.

Our Performance Expectations are:

  • The AEPC is responsible for assisting in the production and overseeing of the entire bake shop set by the Executive Pastry Chef.
  • Responsible for assisting in baking and creating all pastries, cakes, and bake shop items for all the Huis in the company.
  • The Assistant Executive Pastry Chef is responsible for managing bake shop staff and working within designated labor budgets set by the Executive Pastry Chef without sacrificing quality or standards.
  • The AEPC should assist in leading the training and performance of the bake shop team in terms of consistency, quality and technique
  • Be a vocal part of the management team to improve the Bakeshop
  • Updates food track recipes as needed
  • Attends and participates in pre-shifts as needed to educate FOH and BOH staff on new desserts or specialty items
  • Establishes and maintains good communication and a positive working relationship with Restaurant Managers, Chefs, Back of the House staff, and Vendors
  • Maintains Health & Safety standards while training and working with the teams
  • Rally the team to support changes to the kitchen and menu
