The nurse is responsible for total resident care for the assigned residents following established facility policy and procedures, federal and state regulations and nursing standards of practice.
Duties:
Major job functions include performing nursing tasks to assure resident needs are met. This includes: monitoring resident needs, condition and care; administering medications and treatments as ordered by the physician; orders and receives medications from the pharmacy; admits and discharges residents; oversees CNA staff; ensures narcotic policy and procedures are followed; reports changes of condition to RN Supervisor, ADON or DON, and physician as delegated; monitors for side effects of medication and reports prn; ensures resident care plans are being followed.
In addition, the RN will transcribe and execute physician orders; completes documentation as required; completes fall reporting; reports any bruises, skin tears and abuse/neglect; gives report to nursing staff; follows and upholds Resident Bill of Rights and facility policies and procedures; maintains confidentiality and follows HIPAA requirements, etc. Provides excellent customer service and communication to all residents/families/visitors/MDs/coworkers, etc.
Qualifications:
This position requires RN licensure with the GA Board of Nursing or a Multi-State license. Must have current CPR certification. Preference is given to applicants with previous experience in medical, surgical or geriatric nursing. Must have a desire to work with the elderly. Must maintain confidentiality to ensure compliance with all HIPAA regulations.
