Duties:
Major job functions include performing nursing tasks to assure resident needs are met. This includes: assess and evaluate resident needs, condition and care; administers medications and treatments as ordered by the physician; orders and receives medications from the pharmacy; evaluates for side effects of medications and reports to appropriate personnel; admits and discharges residents; oversees LPN/NAR staff; ensures narcotic policy and procedures are followed; completes charting required; ensures resident care plans are followed; conducts assessments of residents with condition changes and reports to charge nurse/supervisor. In addition, the RN will transcribe and execute physician orders; completes documentation as required; completes fall reporting; reports any bruises, skin tears and abuse/neglect; gives report to nursing staff; follows and upholds Resident Bill of Rights and facility policies and procedures; maintains confidentiality and follows HIPAA requirements; supervises and directs licensed and non-licensed staff; assists with orientation of new staff; etc. Provides excellent customer service and communication to all residents/families/visitors/MD's/ coworkers, etc.
Qualifications:
This position requires RN licensure with the GA Board of Nursing. Must have current CPR certification. Preference is given to applicants with previous experience in medical, surgical or geriatric nursing. Must have a desire to work with the elderly. Must maintain confidentiality to ensure compliance with all HIPAA regulations. Must be able to work weekends.
