Job Title: Accounting Clerk
Reports to: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
Commensurate with experience.
A. To accept and carry out responsibilities of this position.
B. To be familiar with Cooperative's policies, rate schedules, rules and regulations; and have thorough knowledge of utility accounting and bookkeeping principles.
C. To have thorough knowledge of and to promote, practice and assure adherence to all of Cooperative's established policies, rules and regulations.
D. To expedite all work assignments in orderly and efficient manner.
E. To have thorough knowledge of Cooperative's ownership philosophy and principles.
F. To have thorough knowledge of RUS accounting and procedures.
II. REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
Reports to CFO. Confers, reviews and discusses with CFO on all matters relative to fulfillment of this position.
A. Processes accounts payable and prepares payments to Maintains and reconciles subsidiary of monthly accounts payable with general ledger. Acquire W9's from vendors and prepare annual 1099 tax forms.
B. Processes and reconciles other accounts receivables.
C. Maintains set-up of all new vehicles and fixed assets and reconciles to general ledger.
D. Maintains monthly budget reports.
E. Assists with plant, month-end closing process, scanning and analysis as needed.
F. Assists cooperative employees in researching or obtaining information pertaining to accounting records which will help manage their areas of responsibility.
G. Other duties, as assigned, from time to time.
IV. JOB REQUIREMENTS
A. Minimum of two (2) to three (3) years of general accounting experience and knowledge of Microsoft Office or similar software Associate degree in accounting, business administration, or related degree preferred. Work experience in lieu of education may be considered by management.
B. Neatness, diplomacy, and ability to work with other employees and deal with general public.
C. Ability to type, use calculator, personal computer and applicable software and other related office equipment.
D. Climbing stairs and ladder and stooping to access files and records.
E. Lifting of ledgers and supplies up to thirty-five (35) pounds to shoulder height.
F. Working under time pressure and meeting deadlines.
G. Finger dexterity, good color vision, good hearing, ability to do close work for extended periods, and capacity to speak.
H. Capable of multi-tasking and adaptable to change, such as job duties or job positions.
I. Able to travel or work at other locations.
J. Able to work overtime as
