Mack Studios, Inc. located in Auburn, NY, is seeking a Full-time Accounts Payable Clerk.
The Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for receiving, processing, and verifying invoices related to accounts payable function in accordance with established organizational policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Processing accounts in compliance with financial policies and procedures
- Performing Supplier Maintenance activities
- Processing day to day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, and recording accounts payable data
- Process purchase order invoices in timely manner, to include verifying receiving information, verification of pricing and quantities, general ledger coding, posting and filing.
- Process outgoing payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures, to include pulling invoices, running totals, posting and preparing checks for signatures, preparing for mailing and filing of payments.
- Collaborate with internal departments for approvals and proper general ledger coding.
- Processing and reconciling monthly credit card accounts activity.
- Reconcile the accounts payable ledger to ensure that all bills and payments are accounted for and properly posted.
- Assist with month-end close, prepayments, accruals and Accounts Payable reconciliation
- Verify and investigate discrepancies, if any, by reconciling vendor accounts and monthly vendor statements.
- Facilitate payment of invoices due by sending bill reminders and contacting clients
- Generate reports detailing accounts payables status
- Reconciling Goods Received Not Invoiced
- Understand expense accounts and cost centers
- Develop and maintain positive vendor relationships
- Understands compliance issues around accounts payable processes (W-9, 1099 and sales tax)
- Support special projects as required
Required Skills and Abilities
- Proven working experience as an Accounts Payable Clerk
- Understand expense accounts and cost centers
- Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounts payable principles
- Strong analytical problem solving, critical thinking skills, high degree of attention to detail
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to function in a high paced, ambiguous, dynamic environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to professional and effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
- Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize tasks
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suites, prior experience with an ERP a plus.
- Minimum of 4 years of previous Accounts Payable experience preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Experience utilizing Microsoft office suite and an ERP system
