Lucira Health is a medical technology company focused on the development and commercialization of transformative infectious disease test kits. We have developed a testing platform that produces centralized-laboratory-accurate molecular testing in a single-use and consumer-friendly test kit that is powered by two AA batteries and fits in the palm of a hand. Our LUCIRA Check It (OTC) and LUCIRA COVID-19 All-In-One Test Kit (Rx) are designed to provide a clinically relevant COVID-19 result within 30 minutes from sample collection.

Summary

The Research Associate will work in early research and development to drive the invention and development of novel diagnostic assays. The position will be a combination of experimental design, reagent preparation, and assay setups as well as data analysis and presentation of results to the scientific team. This role is a vital part of the Lucira Health team, with key contributions to develop, test, and validate new products, and will have many opportunities for learning and growth.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain clear and concise documentation of developed processes in a lab notebook
  • Handle biospecimens in a molecular diagnostic setting
  • Generate and maintain sterile stocks of molecular buffers and reaction mixes
  • Conducting experiments under direction of senior staff

Qualifications

  • BS or MS in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Genetics or similar scientific degree
  • 0-2 years in either an academic or industry setting, including internship experience
  • Good understanding of the importance of documentation practices
  • Experience with PCR setup, and DNA/RNA purification and quantification or other similiar
  • Experience working in a BSL2 environment under GXP and general safety regulations
  • Diagnostic/ biotechnology industry is desired
  • Familiarity with molecular biology techniques
