LandSolutions Inc. is looking to hire a permanent, full stack Software Engineer to develop innovative applications within web, mobile, and GIS in support of our technology solutions roadmap. A successful candidate in this role will have the opportunity to create a meaningful impact across industry sectors, with an emphasis on Renewables and Green Energy Solutions, Public Infrastructure and Midstream.
The role is based in Alberta, and reports to the VP of Technology and Strategy. A relocation package will be available to the right candidate.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A SOFTWARE ENGINEER
As a Software Engineer at LandSolutions, you will play an essential role in designing, developing, testing, and implementing new and updated commercial programs for our company. Most of your focus will be on developing our LandTraxx3 application, and you will work closely with our vendor to transfer knowledge, write, and review code, assist in architectural design, and provide direction towards our technology initiatives and goals. You will design and develop applications using an agile framework and in accordance with SDLC, design standards, and business requirements.
Throughout the development life cycle, you will ensure that documentation is completed, and knowledge is transferred to stakeholders through demonstrations, training, and meetings. In addition, you will provide advice and recommendations to the Vice President, Technology & Strategy on opportunities to improve performance and capacity as well as mitigate the risk of application services. During day-to-day operations, you will stay in accordance with ITIL best practices, which include incident management, problem management, release management, and change management processes.
When issues arise with applications, you will prioritize incidents and persevere to develop resolutions. You will participate in meetings with stakeholders, our project management office, vendors, and other business practice groups to ensure all applications are in compliance with our security policy.
- University degree in Computer Science or similar field
- 5+ years of experience in software development, SDLC, Agile Framework, including 2+ years in a lead Software Engineer role
- 5+ years of experience developing and supporting SaaS application with ASP.NET Core MVC
- 4+ years of experience using MS SQL Server (T-SQL)
- 3+ years of experience with software design and architecture
- Knowledge of applications such as user computing software, SaaS, PaaS, networking, and security
- Experience with Microsoft SharePoint and Teams platforms
- Proficiency in data structures, algorithms, runtime complexity, API, and database design, including unit and functional test methodologies
