The Kentucky College of Art + Design (KyCAD) is seeking to fill the following vacancy: Accounting Assistant (Part Time).

This position will be based on-campus in Louisville, Kentucky. A hybrid schedule may also be considered.

Position Description

Reporting directly to the CFO, the Accounting Assistant will be responsible for completing a variety of accounting support tasks with the primary goal of fortifying and streamlining operations within the Finance, Advancement, and Administration departments of KyCAD.


Finance Confirm receipts for all purchases Confirm procurement requests for unique, non-recurring purchases Confirm copy of check for transactions paid for by check Remove redundant vendors from and maintain vendor list in QuickBooks Online (QBO) Flag invoices or receipts that include sales tax; resolve these issues Check requests against budget Payroll journal entries General journal entries Bank reconciliations

Advancement Enter donor information in Salsa Labs to ensure database is accurate and current

Administration Work directly with the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) on administrative tasks Work directly with the Financial Controller and Director of IT on administrative and support tasks

Minimum Qualifications

  • Excellent attention to numerical detail and ability to recognize and reconcile discrepancies
  • Experience and proficiency with MS Excel and accounting software
  • Exemplary math skills
  • Organizational skills
  • Familiarity with basic Finance regulations
  • 2 years of relevant work experience in similar role (or an equivalent combination of experience and education)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (preferably in Finance, Accounting, or related field)
