You will be assisting with the compounding of sterile prescription medications in this role. Some of the other essential job functions include:
- Preparing and compounding sterile products
- Complete order entry and refills under the supervision of the pharmacist
- Inventory management and storage, complete appropriate documentation, such as labels, log sheets and reports
- Efficiently and accurately manage required production/workload
- Maintain medication log
- Prepares prescription medication for shipping
- Document compounding activities in an accurate and timely manner
- Prepare and maintain a clean and orderly work environment
Hourly Pay $18.00 - $25.00
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- High school diploma or equivalent
- If candidate is not currently registered as a technician, they must obtain registration through the state of Nebraska ($25) prior to starting as a technician.
- Once candidate becomes newly registered as a technician with the state, the candidate must complete the certification exam through a board approved state or national pharmacy technician certification program within one year from the registration date.
- Knowledge of prescriptions, medications, and pharmacy procedures/best practices
- Skill in using a computer and a variety of software, including Electronics Health Records (EHR) software, Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook
- Skill in communicating in a professional manner, both verbally and in writing
- Skill in managing multiple priorities
- Ability to convey professional demeanor when engaging with patients, protecting privacy, and confidentiality
- Ability to enter data into a computer to maintain records
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
PREFERRED:
- Clean room experience preferred
- One year of experience as a pharmacy technician in a licensed pharmacy or experience in a healthcare field.
- Current State of Nebraska Pharmacy Technician Registration and proof of completion of a board approved state or national pharmacy technician certification program
