Kids In Distress is looking to hire a full-time Parent Educator / Case Manager responsible for providing parenting skills training and case management to adult clients. This is a great opportunity for somebody that has excellent case management skills, loves working with children and families, and is familiar with services offered to families in Broward County.

The Parenting Educator / Case Manager ensures that parenting training is provided through educational groups and/or individual sessions which may be in person or virtual. This is a cross-trained position and is also responsible for providing all the necessary support services to parents in order to meet their needs and the needs of their children. The Case Manager must perform a needs assessment, case/treatment/family service plan, maintain daily documentation, progress reports and discharge summary. The Case Manager is responsible for maintaining all documentation required by the assigned program and contract.

Skills / Requirements

  • Must have a Bachelor's degree in Social Work or related human services field; and at least one (1) year of experience working with children and families involved in the child welfare system.
  • Must possess excellent organizational and case management skills. Must have the ability to intervene in family and crisis situations and be an advocate in dealing with ChildNet and legal systems.
  • Must have good time management skills to meet deadlines, and case file organization.
  • Must be fluent in English and have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals or technical procedures written in English; the ability to type reports and business correspondence in English; and the ability to effectively communicate in English.
  • Candidate must be computer literate in Microsoft Word and Zoom.
  • Must have transportation and be willing to visit clients in their homes. Valid Florida Driver's License with full access to a reliable vehicle with appropriate insurance coverage (proof of insurance is required).
