Harbor House of Central Florida is Orange County's state certified Domestic Violence service provider. We offer a variety of services including a 24-hour crisis hotline, shelter, counseling, legal advocacy, and community education.
Youth & Teen Manager
Harbor House is seeking a dynamic, enthusiastic individual to be responsible for the programming, operation, administration and staffing of the Harbor House of Central Florida Youth and Teen Services Programming which includes the Primary Prevention, Youth Advocacy and Camp Programs. This individual will oversee the immediate and long-term planning and management for domestic violence prevention education programs and primary prevention work. Additionally, they will be responsible for developing and maintaining community contacts for education, prevention, training, and opportunities to assist in the provision of services for the children of domestic violence survivors. Provides a holistic comprehensive program that includes advocacy and service management for children residing in shelter as well as the youth receiving programming through Prevention.
Experience: The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2-4 years' experience in community engagement, project development and supervision required.
Other Job Requirements: This position requires Knowledge of basic personnel practices and procedures. Ability to identify program needs and implement programmatic changes. Knowledge of community organizations, local business networks and non-profit organizations. The ability to provide effective and immediate crisis intervention for youth and teens. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and to make professional presentations. Intermediate to advanced computer skills and clean driving record required. Knowledge of basic counseling skills. Ability to facilitate support groups for children of all ages. Ability to plan, organize and conduct trauma-informed activities. Must attend a 3-day training to become CORE certified prior to working with survivors.
Education and Training: Minimum of a bachelor's degree in Business, Social Work, or related field. Master's degree is preferred. Professional experience may be substituted for formal education at the discretion of the Chief Executive Officer.
