Hanover Iron Works, a rapidly growing miscellaneous metals fabrication and installation company is seeking a full-time Project Manager for our Richmond, VA location.
The Project Manager will initiate, plan, execute, control and close the project in the context of agree-upon customer expectations, commitments and constraints.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate the overall process of fabricating and erecting miscellaneous metals, and vendors of other trades subcontracted for assigned project(s)
- Work with Detailing Manager to prepare and manage the steel detailing and surveying of shop/fabrication drawings
- Coordinate submittals and checking drawings
- Prepare, execute, and review Subcontract Change Orders
- Prepare and submit monthly project billings
- Prepare and negotiate change orders, deducts, and proposals
- Prepare and maintain "As Built" drawings
- Analyze and prepare monthly WIP's for division management's review (work in progress analysis)
- Create and establish schedules that include preconstruction planning, submittals, engineering, shop drawing creation, material procurement, and fabrication, shipping, erection, and closeout procedures
- Work with contractors, trades, inspectors, engineers, detailers, superintendents, and foreman to ensure the project is successfully progressing
- Maintain positive client relationships and communicate effectively with all parties associated with the project
- Read specifications and blueprints to determine the locations, quantities, and sizes of materials required
- Communicate and coordinate with other project contractors to maintain schedule, deliver of materials, and mitigate design conflicts
- Issue corrective action notices to subcontractors, as required, to enforce company and/or project guidelines/policies
- Document and maintain correspondence (email, notes, meeting minutes, etc.) between all parties to ensure a thorough and organized paper trail
- Ability to effectively organize and maintain important documents in both a hard copy and electronic format
Required Experience/Abilities
- Knowledge of materials, methods, and tools involved in misc. metals construction
- Knowledge of safety, quality, and cost control standards and procedures
- Ability to understand and apply varying levels of mathematics as applicable to the position
- Ability to effectively organize and maintain important documents in both hard copy and electronic format
- Knowledge of applicable and proper use of laser lever, digital tape measure, tape measure, and fall protection
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment
Computer Skills:
- Tekla and Fabtrol (preferred)
- Microsoft Project, Primavera (preferred)
- Microsoft Office Suite
